Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) was developed by Virginia Axline, an associate of Carl Rogers. CCPT follows tenents of Client-Centered Therapy: creating a non-judgmental, emotionally supportive and empathic atmosphere while at the same time sets clear boundaries that provide the child with psychological safety that facilitates essential learning of emotional and behavioral self-regulation.
